MORK announce new album "Katedralen" for 2021

Norwegian black metallers MORK will release their fifth full-lenght "Katedralen" via Peaceville Records in 2021.

The album features guest appearances of Nocturno Culto from Darkthrone, Dolk of Kampfar and Eero Pöyry of Skepticism.

Here´s an excerpt of the press release on which Thomas Eriksen explains the concept of the album: "The album title Katedralen (Cathedral) is actually and old one I´ve had lying around since the early days of Mork. I always had a vision of of a vast desolate cold and dead land and a gigantic cathedral where lost souls are kept for all eternity... Katedralen is not a concept album either, but I see now that all the tracks tie natly together after all. In the end all the lost souls end up at the base of the massive cathedral."

Check out the band´s EP "Pesta" released earlier this year here.
"Katedralen" will be released on March 5th, 2021. Pre-order available here.

GÖDEN Reveal new track "Glowing Red Sun"

GÖDEN revealed a new track "Glowing Red Sun", taken from the upcoming debut album "Beyond Darkness".

As you may already know, GÖDEN is the continuation of WINTER. So it was officially stated by Stephen Flam. In Flam´s own words: "I write, record, and produce the music. Glowing Red Sun" was a part of music I wrote for Winter that was recorded and completed in 2003.  Winter started to work on songs during rehearsals for the reunion shows in 2011 with intentions of using these songs for the follow up to Into Darkness.  Glowing Red Sun, Night , Dark Nebula, and various riffs from the 2003 demo as well as new music I had. We tracked and recorded with Xris Flam at Gaia studio (Toni Pinnisi´s place). Winter performed Glowing Red Sun when we played with Sunn O))) at warsaw concerts in Brooklyn NY".

With this terrific track and the already unveilded "Twillight" (check out the video here) I reaffirm that "Beyond Darkness" will be the dark gem of the year.

SADISM To release "The Sadistic Key Elements"

SADISM, one of the most veteran and prestigious band from the mighty chilean scene will release their 9th album entitled "The Sadistic Key Elements" consisting of 10 cover songs.

Regarding the selection of bands to cover, founding members Juan Pablo Donoso (drums) and Ricardo Roberts (vocals) comment: "we picked within a broad spectrum of bands that we used to listen to and had left a great impression on us, but that wouldn´t be necessarily have influence on the current sound and style of Sadism. Among the selection, the majority correspond to Thrash Metal bands (with recordings between 1984 and 1988) which was the dominant style  in those days before the rise and legacy of Death Metal in years to come.
The Chosen bands were; Dark Angel, Sepultura, Destruction, Kreator, Voivod, Hallows Eve, Assassin, Infernäl Mäjesty, Sacrifice and Mercyful Fate."

The reccording features the collaboration of a few guitar players that are friends of the band such as Enrique Zuñiga (Atomic Agressor), Álvaro Soms (Dorso), Yanko Tolic (Massakre), Igor Leiva (Capilla Ardiente/Poema Arcanus), Claudio Illanes (Undercroft/Warpath), Hernán Muñoz (Recrucide) and Chris Irarrazabal (Nimrod B.C.) playing solos in some of the tracks.
Another cool fact about this release is that the band choose to use the old logo on the album cover, it was used on the band´s debut demo "Perdition of Souls" released in 1989.

The band revealed a teaser with extracts of each song included on the album.
"The Sadistic Key Elements" will be out on June 5th through Toxic Records on Limited LP/LP/Digi CD and digital.

TRIPTYKON "Requiem - Live at Roadburn 2019" with the Dutch Metropole Orkest

One of the most anticipated releases of the year is finally here, "Requiem (Live at Roeadburn 2019)" performed by TRIPTYKON  with the Metropole Orkest.

"Requiem" consist of two now classic CELTIC FROST chapters and a newly writen part, performed for the first time in its entirety with full classical orquestration by the Dutch Metropole Orkest

"Requiem” (46:00 min.) is composed of three chapters:
I - “Rex Irae” (06:34 min.) (First appeared on 1987’s “Into The Pandemonium” album by Celtic Frost)
II - "Grave Eternal” (32:28 min.) (Newly written middle part)
III - "Winter” (06:54 min.) (First appeared on 2006’s “Monotheist” album by Celtic Frost)

Next I would like to share the words of Tom Gabriel Warrior about "Requiem" expressed on the official TRIPTYKON web:

“We are truly, deeply delighted to be able to have been granted the opportunity to finish this unique project begun by Celtic Frost so many years ago, and to finally share the completed recording with the world. This album is the result of two years of passionate work, and it marks the conclusion of a musical idea first considered over three decades ago. Moreover, this "Requiem" also represents drummer Hannes Grossmann's first recording with Triptykon, and we are very proud to feature him in such an extraordinary context.
It was an incredible honour to collaborate with the Metropole Orkest, conductor Jukka Iisakkila, guest vocalist Safa Heraghi, and the esteemed Roadburn festival. In fact, there couldn't have been a better partner for the "Requiem" project than Roadburn.
We are releasing this "Requiem" album in memoriam of our deeply missed friends and collaborators Martin Eric Ain and HR Giger.”

The wonderful frontcover artwork named "Blood Angel" was created by Daniele Valeriani.

THE PAST IS ALIVE! New music and videos by: CIRITH UNGOL, SOLOTHUS, NECROPHILIAC, CANDLEMASS, THE SWAY OF MOUNTAINS, PUTRID

CIRITH UNGOL have just revealed a lyric video of the brand new track titled "Legions Arise", taken from the upcoming album "Forever Black" out on April 24th via Metal Blade.

"Realm of Ash and Blood" is the title of the new album by Finnish Death-doom monsters SOLOTHUS. The album will be released on March 27th via 20 Buck Spin records. The first track unveiled is "The Watcher", a reeeally heavy midtempo-neck breaking track.

Spanish NECROPHILIAC surprises us with their first official video clip ever.  This veteran death metallers are about to release the second full-length "No Living Man is Innocent" via Xtreem Music. The track chosen for the video clip is "GodBundy".

Second lyric video released by CANDLEMASS from the band´s new EP "The Pendulum". The track appeared on Avatarium´s latest full-length "The fire I long for", released last year, but according to Candlemass´ Leif Edling this version of "Porcelain Skull" is "rawer and harder"...

THE SWAY OF MOUNTAINS is a one man project coming from South Africa. It is a self-released instrumental death metal album performed very well by Rowan Deysel. I´m not into instrumental albums so I missed some vocals here and there, and I missed more rawness and a dirtier production too. But on the other side, in the five tracks on "Elasticity" you´ll find some great riffs, progressive parts, good solos and melodies  that proves that Rowan has good ideas and he play with a precise technique.  So for me it is worth to check "Elasticity" out and to keep an eye on on the next release, as Rowan is already working on new songs.
