WORSHIP VINYL: SARCÓFAGO "Hate"

Released in 1994 "Hate" is the third full-lenght of SARCÓFAGO (cult!).
When it came out I totally disliked the sound because of the drum machine.  As a fan, back then I would have liked the band to continue the style and sound they reached with the previous and magnificent album "The Laws of Scourge", and the work of Lucio Oliver on that album was brilliant. But after "Laws" Lucio and guitarist Fábio Jhasko left the band and Sarcófago remained as a duo formed by Wagner and Gerald, adding Eugenio "Dead Zone" on keyboards and drum programming.

Musically, "Hate" moved away from the more technical style of "Laws" and was somehow a return to the primitive and rawer style the band shown on their early days.  Despite the sound of the drum machine (wich I still dislike) the music is good enough to make "Hate" a brilliant album and a highlight among Sarcófago´s short discography, with great songs like "The God´s Faeces", "Orgy Of Flies", "Hate" or "Anal Vomit". 

Greyhaze Records have just reissued this album on vinyl (and tape), giving the album the high quality vinyl treatment the label usually do on all their reissues (specially all Sarcófago`s LP reissues). The audio was remastered from the original master tapes and visually the artwork honors the original releas adding 11x24 insert with "new" graphic material, on gatefold (limited) purple or black vinyl.

WORSHIP VINYL: MARDUK "Germania"

I´m not a fan of black metal live albums, nor am I a fan of Legion´s vocal style, (though albums like "Panzer Division Marduk" and "La Grande Danse Macabre" are among my faves into MARDUK great discography) but this one might be a cool release for collectors.

Blooddawn Productions in conspiracy with Osmose Productions present the reissue of 1996 "Germania" (originally released as "Live in Germania") on unlimited gatefold 2LP black vinyl and strictly limited of 100 bloodred copies.

It was released a month ago but there are still some copies available of the limited edition (and regular black too) through the Blooddawn webstore here, and some copies through Osmose webstore (including silver vinyl version) here.

WORSHIP VINYL: DEMIGOD "Unholy Domain" official vinyl release

Raw Skull Recordz will release the classic and fantastic debut demo "Unholy Domain" by Finnish cult band DEMIGOD.

Originally released in 1991, "Unholy Domain" is available on vinyl for the first time, it will come in two different colors: black (limited x 100 copies), or white/blue vinyl (x 200 copies)

This is a totally official release, with permission of Esa Linden (guitar,vocals).

WORSHIP VINYL: ABSU reissue LP ... The Osmose Years

ABSU will reissue the albums released in the period from  1991 to 2001 in collaboration with Osmose Productions during 2020.

The 25th anniversary edition of The classic "The Sun Of Tiphareth" will be released next March 27th, available as gatefold 180gm swirl vinyl and  regular black vinyl, including 350g gatefold jacket and A2 color poster. 

The release of "The Third Storm of Cythraul" will follow later (April 24th) in blue galaxy vinyl and regular black vinyl. 
"In the Eyes of Ioldanach" will come out on May 29th in black vinyl, gold vinyl and swamp green vinyl. No release date of "And Shineth Into the Cold Cometh", "Tara" and "Mytological Occult Metal"  has been revealed yet.

WORSHIP VINYL: WINTER "Into Darkness" Svart Records Box Set reissue

Svart Records announced the reissue of the monumental, highly acclaimed and worshipped old school album "Into Darkness" by New York´s mighty WINTER.

A 2LP box set presented as "the ultimate edition on vinyl! housed in a heavy- duty slipcase, the package features a replica of Into Darkness LP with original cover layout, the demo Eternal Frost making its vinyl debut plus a thick magazine with Winter memorabiblia."

Sounds really good doesn´t it? So it is a good chance to add it to your collection wether yu alredy have the original release, the Southern Lord reissue of 2011, all or none of them. There is a black vinyl version limited to 600 copies and one on clear vinyl limited to 400 copies. A must!

But, the good news doens´t end here, Svart Records also announced the upcoming release of the debut album by GÖDEN, the spiritual succesor to Winter.  Founding guitarist Stephen Flam set to work on what has become Göden, "a project that has inherited much of Winter's ultra-bleak apocalyptic scope, but in the spirit of the transition between Celtic Frost and Triptykon", The album title is "Beyond Darkness", it will be releaased on May 7th.

WORSHIP VINYL: THANATOS "Blind Obediende-Thanatos" 7"

A new release by the great THANATOS!  Two re-recorded old tracks released on 7" vinyl via Dead by Dawn Records.

To celebrete their 35th anniversary, the band re-recorded two old songs,  "Blind Obedience" and "Thanatos", both songs were originally recorded and released on the first demo tape "Speed Kills".

This re-recorded versions were also released early this year on the "Thanatology - Terror From The Vault" compilation CD, released through Memento Mori Records, and features guest appeareance of Thanatos original guitarist and co-founder Remco.

WORSHIP VINYL: KATATONIA Jhva Elohim Meth

Peaceville Records will reissue one of the best Demos released in the early 90s. "Jhva Elohim Meth" released by KATATONIA in 1992 was iconic among the black metal milieu, but beyond being "just" black metal, the three tracks (+ intro and outro) expressed a dark-cold and atmospheric blend of death, doom and black metal, despite the "evil" image used by the band back then.

This reissue is presented on a limited 12" blue vinyl with original cover artwork and lyrics.

WORSHIP VINYL: THE LORD DIABOLUS (BEHERIT) "Down There..."

In 1991 BEHERIT recorded and released the demo "Down There..." under the moniker of THE LORD DIABOLUS, due to some problems the band were having with Turbo Music back then.

Now Dark Descent Records and The Sinister Flame presents the official first-time vinyl reissue of this classic demo.

The release contains four tracks and comes as heavy weight 180gm 12" with an etched B-side featuring the iconic Baphomet Sigil.

WORSHIP VINYL: MARDUK - ABRUPTUM exclusive EPs

BLOODDAWN PRODUCTIONS will put out some exlusive and interesting releases. MARDUK´s "Winged Death" shaped 7" picture LP with cover poster limited to 500 copies contains 2 live tracks, "Wolves" and "On Darkened Wings" recorded live in Nokkoping in 1993.

The second release is ABRUPTUM´s "Apostoli Infernum" presented also on shaped 7" picture LP, with poster cover limited to 300 copies. Featuring the title track, which is a brand new unreleased track exclusively available on this release.

Both 7" LPs wil lbe out on October 14th. Preorders are availabe on the official bandcamp store (here) and also through Shadow Records.

"Orchestra Of Dark"  was the third demo from ABRUPTUM released in 1991 and was the tape that caught the attention of Euronymous and led to the signing to Deathlike Silence Peoductions. 

The demo will be released by Blooddawn on CD/MC and LP, The vinyl version will be limited to 500 copies, 400 on black and 100 on bloodred.

WORSHIP VINYL: ANCIENT "Svartalvheim" Re-issue

Soulseller Records will re-issue the debut album by Norwegian black metallers ANCIENT.

"Svartalvheim" was originally released in 1994 through Listenable Records. Previously the band release the demo "Eerily Howling Winds", and the great 7" "Det Glemte Riket".  This was the first record that I heard from the band and it was really good. Coming from the then emerging norwegian black metal scene the band had ther own sound and certain touch of originality. 

So the debut full length raised great exptectations and I must say that the album didn´t dissapoint.  We all know the kind of music released on the following albums (if you dont´, dont waste your time) but Svartalvheim  was enshrouded in a grim and gloomy veil, a fresh and solid album with great tracks such as "Eerily Howlging Winds", "Call Of The Absu Deep" and "Det Glemte Riket", my personal faves.

So this is an interesting reissue by Soulseller, comes with alternative cover, available on black vinyl, gold vinyl and there is a picture disc version with outer sleeve. Click here for more info and pre-order. Release date: SEptember 3, 2018.

WORSHIP VINYL: SARCÓFAGO "The Worst" Reissue

SARCÓFAGO´s "The Worst" was the last full-lenght released by the band in 1996, Greyhaze Records will re-release it on vinyl and cassette for the first time on August 24th.

Is considered by many as the worst (jokes aside) album released  by the band, I wouldn´t say so, but there is probalby my least favourite. Since the album "Hate" released in 1994 SARCÓFAGO started to use drum machine, and yes I hated the sound of the goddamned drum machine, though the music is still fucking good.

There are a lot of great heavy riffs on this album, like the ones on the slow tracks, the title track and "God Bless the Whores". There is also a re-recorded version of "Satanic Lust", originally from their cult debut album "I.N.R.I" but though the guitar sound is good the drum machine ruins it and makes you stop listening the track and to look for the original.

"The album´s audio went through a high-quakity remastering process, including audio sourced from original master tapes. The Worst´s reissue also comes with an expanded visual package including previously unavailable photos  from the album´s photo session". 

I NEED this in my collection! "Remember my friend, the worst is to come"...

WORSHIP VINYL: PUNGENT STENCH

30 years have passed since the birth of this sick biarre creation known as PUNGENT STENCH.  To celebrate this anniversary there are good news for those who enjoy the work of this Austrian death metallers.

The most intriguing thing is the release of "Smut Kingdom", an album recorded in late 2006 and early 2007 that has remained unreleased until now.

The other good news is the reissue of the band´s classics, the debut album "For God Your Soul...For Me Your Flesh" released in 1990, "Been Caught Buttering" (1991), "Dirty Rhymes And Psychotronic Beats" (1993), "Club Mondo Bizarre For Members Only" (1994) and "First Recordings" which includes the songs from the split EP with Disharmonic Orchestra and "Extreme Deformity" EP, both released in 1989.

These first works plus the two first full-lenghts are in my opinion essential, "Been Caught Buttering" stands as my favourite from their discography.

Some vinyl maniacs have reacted in a somewhat hesitant way, since Back On Black will handle the re-issues, although there are different opinions regarding the quality of the label´s latest re-releases.

I hope that they are up to the quality of this great and original band and above all I anxiously wait to be pleased with the unreleased material of "Smut Kingdom".

WORSHIP VINYL: SAMAEL "Blood Ritual" 25th Anniversary Edition

Purification by the blood! "Blood Ritual" the sophomore album by SAMAEL turns 25.  Time to celebrate and to get a special vinyl reissue (in case you didn´t get the 2011 version, reissued by Floga Records, or if you did but want to fulfill your collector´s vice and get this special reissue too.

This is a black metal gem, not "Nordic" black metal or "Under the Sign of the Black Mark" fast riffing inspired, this is gloomy, morbid, obscure, slow black metal.  "Beyond the Nothingness", "After The Sepulture", "With The Gleam Of The Torches" or the title track are superb.

This anniversary edition reissued by Century Media comes in a gatefold sleeve and includes a 60x60 sized cover art poster. The cover features the LP´s original cover artwork re-created from a brand new scan of the original painting  by Axel Herman, and reveal its more blueish character, which was lost on the first pressing.  An interesting detail revealed is that the artwork has not been polished digitally to show it exactly  the way it looks twenty-five years after being painted.

While we (I!!!) anxiously wait for the upcoming FILII NIGRANTIUM INFERNALIUM full-lenght, not the devil himself but his servants, send us this musical gift as mighty vinyl for us to worship, released by Chaos Recordings and Down With The Most High Production.

"Inmundita Odii Plena" features early demo recordings, "The Miracle of Death" demo from 1991 (still as Bactherion) and 1993´s "Os Metodos Do Pentagrama". The regular version comes with poster + 20 pages A4 booklet on black vinyl (limited to 350 copies) and  Die-hard edition comes in splatter vinyl + 20 pages A4 booklet + tape featuring FNI live in Benavente 1993 (limited to 150 copies).
